Habeas Corpus Petitions

What is a Habeas Corpus Petition and why are they being filed?
A habeas petition is a judicial order to make law enforcement justify detaining a person.

Habeas petitions are filed in District Court NOT in Immigration Court. This allows the federal court to protect migrants.
